The purpose of this policy is to communicate the principles for Sweetwater County Library cards and the lending of library materials. Rules surrounding cards and library materials also are outlined in this policy, which has been approved by the library board.

The Sweetwater County Library System provides materials for the information, entertainment, intellectual development, and enrichment of the people of Sweetwater County. Library materials are chosen according to this Collection Development Policy, which has been approved by the Library Board.
The Library ensures freedom of information for all. Public libraries preserve and enhance the people’s right to a broader range of ideas than those held by one librarian, publisher, or government.
These are the guidelines set forth for volunteers at the Sweetwater County Libraries. Volunteer coordinator will vary by location. Specifics will be given when application is turned in.
