Reading Dragons Coloring Contest: January 2 - February 14 - Design a griffin to be our newest Reading Dragon card and you could win an afternoon at the library and work with Miss Becky and turn your design into a card! Contest is open to youth in Kindergarten - 12th grade.
Side Quests: Complete a Side Quest for a prize. For all ages.
Teen Trivia: Every time you visit the library try our teen bubble machine for your chance to be a winner. Exciting new trivia every month!
Teen Take & Make: Get a Winter Break Take and Make kit. Kits available while supplies last. For Teens 6th-12th grade.
StoryWalk®: Alma and How She Got Her Name: New Story this January 2026 - Located on the Barbara Carroll Memorial Pathway at the Green River Recreation Center - This January read Alma and How She Got Her Name by Juana Martinez-Neal. Enjoy this heartwarming story about family history and the meaning of names in the fresh Wyoming air. Then visit the library to explore more with a family puzzle craft.
Tea Month: Brrrr! It’s cold outside and we are ready to help you heat back up. Have a cup of tea on us anytime you stop in at the library. Plus Stellar Coffee is offering BOGO coupons to library patrons that visit the library in January. Visit the front desk for more information.

Winter Reading: December 1 - January 31 - We’re reading with our gnomies this winter! Kids can collect fun resin gnomes on their way to a color-changing cup of hot chocolate! Adults will be entered into fun prize basket drawings with each log returned. Sign up anytime starting December 1st at any Sweetwater County Library.

Coloring Contest: Calling all artists! We need some color on our walls. Will you help? Pick up a coloring sheet any time the library is open and bring it back by the end of the month for a chance to win a fun prize!
Alfur: Our friend Alfur stopped by for Winter Reading, but he’s going to need a new home at the end of the month. Enter to win Alfur every time you stop in to the Rock Springs library this month!

Book Walk: Take a walk around the library to read ‘Dog’s Colorful Day’ by Emma Dodd. Complete the book walk and receive a prize.
Gnome Coloring Contest: We’re still hanging with our gnomies for Winter Reading! Pick up a gnome coloring sheet and bring your completed artwork back by January 31 to enter our contest.
Snowflake STEM Project: We’re using marshmallows and toothpicks to make snowflakes. Stop in to join us!
Snowman Hunt: The snowmen are hiding - can you find them all?
Look & Find Holiday Fish Tank: Can you find all the holiday items we’ve hidden in our Fish Tank?

Duck Decorating: Come into the library after Jan 5th to pick up a rubber duck. Decorate it as any character you wish. Return it by Jan 13, National Rubber Duck Day. The ducks will be displayed and voted on through the end of the month. Winner with the most votes will receive a prize. Quantities limited.
