Sign up for our Summer Reading Program and you can earn prizes all summer long just by reading! Plus you can enter to win one of our big prizes with every reading log you turn in. Read as much as you want - there’s no limit. Stop by any library to sign up starting June 2nd and let’s have a great summer!
Summer Long Drop in Events at the Sweetwater County Library
Community Curtain: June and July - A community art work inspired by artist Rebecca Louise Law. Create your personal strand as part of a large, collaborative art installation.
Reading Dragon Coloring Contest: June 1 - July 31 - Design the trio of Reading Dragon Starter Cards. One winner’s designs will be the art for this year's Starter Card packs available in September 2025.
Side Quests: Go on a Library Side Quest for a magical adventure where reading a book, solving a puzzle, or engaging in a creative activity earns you a sticker or candy reward!
Teen Checkout, Scratch & Win: June 9 - August 9 - Every day's a chance to score - just check out books and maybe more! Grab a scratch ticket, take a peek, uncover a prize that's yours to keep!

Weekly Quests: June 9 - August 9 - There's a new quest to go on every week at the library!
Toddler Summer Activity: Can you and your adult color a picture, visit the library, and read a story? Then you’ve got what it takes to complete our Toddler Activity Sheet this summer! Pick up a sheet at the library, and explore your creativity. Every kid who finishes the sheet will receive a small prize and be entered into a drawing for a water doodle mat.
Summer Solstice Kits: June 16 Until Gone - The longest day of the year is here - let’s celebrate by using the sun to its full potential. Pick up a kit anytime the library is open to make a glass of hibiscus sun tea at home. We’ll provide everything but the water! A limited number of kits will be available on a first come, first served basis.
RSL Rock Garden: All Summer Long - Have you ever noticed our staircase rocks? A lot of people miss them. They’re kind of boring right now. Will you help us fix that? Come in anytime the library is open to choose a rock to take home, decorate, then bring back. We’ll put them back under the stairs once they’re nice and colorful, so everyone can enjoy them!
Cosmo the Chameleon: All Summer Long - Our newest library buddy, Cosmo the Chameleon, is spending the summer helping us be colorful at the library! She’s really silly and loves to play hide and seek. Will you help us find her? If you find her hiding in Youth Services this summer, bring her to a librarian, and we’ll enter you into the drawing to take Cosmo home at the end of the summer!
ARK Wall: All Summer Long - Let’s Color Our World with kindness this summer! Help us fill our Acts of Random Kindness Wall with color and heart. Share how you made a difference in our community and get some inspiration for your next amazing act.
Downtown Outlaw Summer: All Summer Long in Downtown Rock Springs - There are outlaws loose in Downtown Rock Springs - can you help us find them all? Pick up a scavenger hunt sheet and get to tracking! Turn your completed sheet in at the library for a small prize and a chance to win a prize basket in June and July.
Wanted Poster Selfie Booth: All Summer Long - Want to join the Downtown Rock Springs outlaws? You can stop in and take a selfie with our Wanted Poster wall anytime this summer!

Popsicle Stick Community Art Project: All Summer Long - Decorate a popsicle stick to be used in an art project with the whole community!
Sticker Wall Art: All Summer Long - Love stickers? So do we! Add a sticker to our wall every time you visit the library this summer to help us make a piece of art!
Perler Bead Art: Daily from 10 am - 3 pm - Make art with our Perler Beads every day from 10am - 3 pm.
Check It Out: June & July - Help us create a piece of art using bottle caps and lids. Every check out adds to the artwork!
Button Bracelets: June - Could you use some colorful new jewelry this summer? Make a button bracelet to take home with you.
No Sew Fabric Bookmarks: June - No sewing machine? No problem! Make a no sew fabric bookmark to hold your spot.
Airplane Challenge: June - Make a paper airplane and see how it flies!
Rainbow Collage: June - We’re coloring our world this summer, so let’s start with a rainbow! Use any of our supplies to make a rainbow collage.
What Can You Build With A Cup of LEGOs?: June - We’ll supply the cup of LEGOs, you supply the masterpiece.
Author Spotlight: June - June’s Author Spotlight is Lois Ehlert. Learn about the author and create a craft inspired by her books.
