Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Board of Directors

June 18, 2018

The Sweetwater County Library System Board of Directors met in regular session on June 18, 2018, at the Rock Springs Library in Rock Springs with the following present, Brenda Casey, Vice-Chair; Debbie Petri-Bullock; Treasure, Philip Pyzyna and Debbie Leisch Board members; Leora Kraft, Lindsey Travis library staff.

 

Casey called the meeting to order at 6:01 pm.

 

Approval of Agenda:

Petri-Bullock made a motion to approve the agenda.  Pyzyna seconded and the motion carried.

 

Approval of Minutes:

Petri-Bullock made a motion to approve the April regular meeting minutes. Leisch seconded and the motion carried.

 

Financial Report and Approval of Expenditures:

The Board was emailed April and May and June Checking Account Activity, Budget Analysis, Balance Sheet and Void Check reports. Pyzyna moved to ratify the release of May’s checks and financials, Petri-Bullock seconded and the motion carried. Pyzyna made a motion to approve June financial reports and expenditures. Leisch seconded and the motion carried.

  

Correspondence:

A thank you from Ann Sweeney the winner of the Winter Reading Adult basket.

 

Announcements:

Travis included a summer events guide, Travis gave an overview of upcoming events.

  1. None

 

New Business:

  1. FY19 Budget Adoption- Petri-Bullock made a motion to adopt a FY19 Operating Budget in the amount of $3,150,740.00 with $2,416,672 in administration and $761,203.00 in operations, $10,000.00 in capital and the FY19 3X5 Pay Scale as presented. Pyzana seconded and the motion carried.
  2. Approval End of Year Expenditures- It was agreed that the final end of the year expenses would be approved by a majority over email and ratified at the regular July meeting.

County Commissioner’s Report:  None

 

Director’s Report:

Travis gave a brief over view of the May & June Directors reports, there was discussion about the vandalism at the Rock Spring Library the hail damage at the Wamsutter Library, Summer Reading sign ups and the remodel at the Rock Springs Library funded by the Wesswick funds.

 

Monthly Statistics:

Travis highlighted that physical materials decreased by 10% from last year, Digital items increased by 38.8%, Patron visits are up due, new patron counters have been installed at the libraries. There was a discussion about the Hoopla and Overdrive databases.

Library Board training will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Sweetwater County Library. in Green River at 6:00 pm.

 

 Adjourn: Leisch moved to adjourn the meeting. Petri-Bullock Casey seconded and the meeting adjourned at 6:31 p.m.
