Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Board of Directors

November 13, 2017


The Sweetwater County Library System Board of Directors met in regular session on November 13, 2017, at the Sweetwater County Library in Green River with the following present: Tim Winger, Chair; Debbie DeBernardi, Vice-Chair; Debbie Petri-Bullock, Treasure; Brenda Casey Board members, Jason Grubb, Library Director; Doc Wendling, County Commissioner, Barbara Kendall, and Leora Kraft, library staff.


Winger called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.


Approval of Agenda:

DeBernardi made a motion to approve the agenda.  Casey seconded and the motion carried.


Approval of Minutes:

DeBernardi made a motion to approve the October regular meeting minutes. Casey seconded and the motion carried.


Financial Report and Approval of Expenditures:

The Board was emailed October and November Checking Account Activity, Budget Analysis, Balance Sheet and Void Check reports.  After a few payment questions, Casey made a motion to approve the financial reports and expenditures.  DeBernardi seconded and the motion carried.



An Invitation the Commerce Bank Holiday Open House was given to the Board and an invitation to vote on the LGLP Board members.



Winter Reading Flyers were passed out in the Board packets followed by a brief discussion.

New Business:

  1. Officer Election- Tim Winger, Board Chair; thanked the Commissioner and the Board for his time of service. A nomination for Board Chair was made for Debbie DeBernardi. A vote was taken and she was approved for Board Chair. A nomination was made for the Vice Chair position Brenda Casey, a vote was taken and she was approved as Vice Chair. A vote to keep Debbie Petri-Bullock as the Treasure was taken and her position will remain the same.

County Commissioner’s Report:  Wendling stated that sales tax and valuations are in higher than anticipated and things are slowly moving up.  Valuations come in at $1.2 million higher than last year. In the coming months he will be attending meetings on the State Economic situation.


Director’s Report:

Grubb spoke briefly about the items included in his written report.


Monthly Statistics:

Grubb stated the YTD we are down 5.4% but Digital content has increased by 56%, Patron visits, Programs offered are slightly down, but the system has had lots of comments about how well things have been managed with all the cuts.

The date for the next regular meeting will be Monday, December 18, 2017 at White Mountain Library in Rock Springs at 6:00 pm.


Adjourn: Petri-Bullock moved to adjourn the meeting. Casey seconded and the meeting adjourned at 6:33 p.m.
