ZOMBIE ATTACK IMMINENT! Teen Librarian Ellie Davis says, “Do not be alarmed if the undead seem to be taking over Flaming Gorge Way on October 17th around 6:00 pm!” The Library Club will be hosting the second annual Zombie Walk and Zombie Prom on Saturday. The walk and prom are geared for people high school age and up. Davis says, “Yes, college students and other adults are invited as well! Just like last year it will be a food drive. What do zombies need food for anyway? Seriously though, bring a delicious item of non-perishable food for admission. We will have bins to put the food in upon arrival at the library. All food collected will be donated to the Green River Food Bank.” Davis even offers advice for affordable prom attire. “People interested in dressing for the prom, keep in mind that you can probably find some great costumes, including old prom dresses and suits, for pretty cheap at one of the thrift stores in the area. Just for the record, no, you don’t need a date to attend the Zombie Prom.”
She says, “We will meet in front of the library at about 5:30 to prepare for the Zombie Walk. Upon our return we will go inside for the Zombie Prom. Ah yes! There will be brains of course (made of jello), good music and an opportunity for free prom pictures and socialization. The grand finale’ of the evening will be when metal band, Never Reaching Tomorrow, takes the stage to melt our faces. We had a blast last year and look forward to a memorable time this year as well. This year promises to be even more epic than last year! See you at the library!”
Davis is Youth Services Assistant Librarian for the Sweetwater County Library in Green River. She is also teen advisor for The Library Club which meets Tuesday evenings at the library. Programs are sponsored by the Sweetwater County Library System, http://www.sweetwaterlibraries.com.
