Kids in Sweetwater County can show that they think reading is cool by signing up for the Sweetwater County Library System’s Youth Winter Reading Program. The program, which has the theme “Reading is Cool,” starts Dec. 1 at Sweetwater County Library in Green River, and Rock Springs Library and White Mountain Library in Rock Springs. Libraries and CFAC closed Nov. 27 and 28 for Thanksgiving

All libraries in the Sweetwater County Library System and the Community Fine Arts Center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving. The libraries and CFAC will reopen for regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 29. Local author Paul Murray hosting program on his new book Nov. 22 @ Rock Springs Library

When looking to write his latest book, local author Paul Murray decided to focus on the Oregon Trail. “I’ve read books about the Oregon Trail, but most were written for kids,” he said. “I wanted to write something that would appeal to teens and adults.” Murray’s book, “West of the Sunset,” does just that.
